A part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services the FDA is responsible for regulating food products, drugs, medical devices, vaccines, animal feed and drugs, cosmtics, and radiation emitting devices (cell phones, microwaves, lasers). Advisory warnings or recall alerts are placed on products found to pose a risk to consumers.

Pediatric Public Education Brochures

Part of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) web site, this link provides information on over 50 pediatric health topics. Articles are concise and well written.
The opinion reflects the consensus of the vast majority of pediatricians.

NOAH (New York Online Access to Health)

A joint effort between various public New York institutions NOAH seeks to provide high quality full-text health information that is accurate, timely, relevant and unbiased. NOAH currently supports English and Spanish. Covers many of health topics.

State Health Departments

Links to all 50 state and some local health departments are provided by CDC. Health departments perform a wide array of health services including health education for both the general public and healthcare providers, regulation of certain areas of health care and funding various health related programs. The goal is to meet the general health needs of local and state citizens.
